7.7.7. Ignition moment
Check and installation of ignition are carried out by a stroboscope.

On a wreath of a pulley there are adjusting risks caused at an interval of 5 °. The first risk is located in 20 ° to VMT, and the last – in 5 ° after VMT. Risk, the corresponding VMT, is noted by yellow paint. The arrow noted the index on a forward cover. |
Check and installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine, check idling turns, switch off ignition.
Carburetor engines
2. Disconnect a hose from the vacuum regulator (or a pressure sensor hose on engines with converter), muffle a hose.
3. Connect a stroboscope according to the instruction of the manufacturer.
4. Start the engine and direct light to a crankshaft pulley. Idling the lit tag has to be opposite to the index.
5. In need of adjustment release bolts of the distributor and turn the distributor case before combination of a tag with the index.
6. Tighten bolts and again check installation of ignition.
7. Check operation of the centrifugal regulator for what be convinced that at increase in turns of the engine the scale on a wreath of a pulley is as if displaced concerning the index "forward", and at decrease in turns to idling the lit tag has to be opposite to the index again.
8. Attach hoses and be convinced that ignition became earlier and the corner of an advancing meets standard.
9. Otherwise the vacuum regulator is faulty (or the pressure pressure sensor) or there is a leak in a hose.
10. Stop the engine and disconnect a stroboscope.
Injector engines
11. Disconnect the socket from the gate sensor.
12. Check and adjust ignition (see subitem 3-5).
13. Stop the engine and disconnect a stroboscope.
14. Attach the socket to the sensor of a butterfly valve.
